Ian Browde, J.D. - Member, Advisory Board
Mr. Browde has over 30 years’ experience in high-tech and cyber-security, business development, marketing and leadership.
During his 8 years at Apple, Mr. Browde launched the company’s presence in China through a partnership with the University of Western China for the Medical Sciences in Chengdu; he trained the Apple education salesforce as they captured 70% of the U.S. education market; he led the acclaimed Apple Managers Seminar and created the Apple-San Jose State University MBA, one of the first such academia and corporate ventures.
During his 9 years at Nokia, Mr. Browde led the team that created the Message Protector, a first in secure messaging for email and text; oversaw the implementation of RSA cyber-security soft tokens on Nokia mobile phones, built significant co-marketing and sales alliances and was named a Nokia Diversity champion.
Mr. Browde also attained significant successes at SCO, managing the strategic alliance with Compaq in the Americas, and at Trend Micro where, as VP of Business Development, he managed the global strategic alliances with Cisco, Citrix, Microsoft and Oracle. He currently serves as the Vice President of Corporate Development for Lynx Software Technologies, a leader in secure embedded, real-time technologies for the Internet of Things (IoT), critical infrastructure, enterprise servers, PCs, laptops, tablets and storage.
Mr. Browde has started and currently advises startup companies in the sustainability space and served for 8 years on the Board of Advisors for the San Francisco State University Centre for Electronic Commerce.
Mr. Browde holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa and a J.D. from the Santa Clara University Law School in California.
